About RePro Stream

We help film and TV teams work together in real-time by letting them watch and make decisions on live video from anywhere. Our platform offers high-quality streams with features like chat, markers, and playback controls. It works on web, iOS, and tvOS.

What we’re looking for

A DevOps with strong sysadmin and cybersecurity experience, someone who knows the ins and outs of live/streaming video. Bonus points if you enjoy systems architecture.

As RePro continues to scale, we need someone to own reliability, deployment, and platform standards while keeping our current and future architecture in mind.

Outcomes you’ll drive

  • Fewer urgent incidents through standards, automation, and better visibility
  • Faster, safer deploys and rollbacks across dev/stage/prod
  • Clear playbook for common tasks
  • Documented SLOs, alerts that matter, and crisp incident run-books
  • A pragmatic redundancy plan that avoids single points of failure

Responsibilities

  • Reliability and operations
    • Define SLOs and SLIs for servers and core services. Build dashboards and actionable alerts.
    • Own incident response playbooks and post‑incident improvements.
  • Platform and environments
    • Create golden paths for video server provisioning, SSL lifecycle, secrets management, and environment parity.
    • Establish rebuilds and snapshots for rapid recovery.
  • Infrastructure as code
    • Introduce and maintain Terraform/Ansible/CDK for AWS and on‑prem entry points. Baseline tagging, cost visibility, and drift detection.
  • CI/CD and release engineering
    • Standardise pipelines, artefact handling, and deploy strategies across repos. Enable safe canaries and rollbacks.
  • Observability and security
    • Mature ELK usage, log taxonomy, and dashboards. Define safe exposure patterns for internal services.
    • SSL, certificates, hotlink protection, VPN hardening, and least‑privilege access conventions.
  • Systems architecture
    • Lead redundancy strategy for video engines and backend services. Reduce SPOFs, right‑size server topology, and guide cloud vs on‑prem choices.

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years in DevOps/Platform/SRE roles operating Linux systems in production
  • Strong AWS expertise and networking fundamentals
  • Containers and registry hygiene; Docker and orchestration foundations
  • Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience (Terraform, Ansible, and/or AWS CDK)
  • Observability stack ownership in practice (Elastic/ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar)
  • Security basics at the platform layer: cert/PKI lifecycle, secret management, VPNs, secure service exposure
  • Proven track record standardising CI/CD and accelerating teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with GPU/Nvidia driver management on Linux, and media/video streaming workloads
  • Knowledge of SRT, HLS, ABR, and watermarking approaches in streaming contexts
  • Proxmox/Virtual Machines or similar virtualisation experience
  • Cost awareness and capacity planning for high‑throughput media systems
  • An interest and preferably experience in designing and implementing infrastructure

Stack you’ll touch here

  • AWS, Linux, Docker, Terraform/CDK
  • ELK, OpenVPN, SSL/TLS automation
  • RePro video engines, internal status/uptime services
  • GitHub pipelines

Location and engagement

  • Remote‑first (we’ve got folks primarily in the UK, Europe, and North America)
  • Preference for candidates who can be Slack-responsive and attend remote meetings between 10-4pm GMT
  • Willing to be on-call outside of your preferred working hours for emergencies
  • London-area access advantageous for hardware/vendor coordination
  • Ideally full-time, but open to discussing 3-5 days/week depending on availability and experience

If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
