Pulsar is RePro’s new desktop-based live streaming encoder, built to simplify real-time collaboration from set to post.

Pulsar is software-first by design. Instead of relying on dedicated hardware encoders, crews can now stream up to four live video feeds directly from a Mac or Windows machine into RePro, using software alone. Linux support is coming soon.

Included with a RePro subscription, Pulsar is built to support collaboration across departments, from on-set video teams through editorial and post, without adding more boxes, rentals, or complexity.

What Pulsar means for different stages of production

On set

For DITs and video operators, Pulsar offers a cleaner, more flexible on-set setup. Multiple QTAKE outputs can be sent directly into RePro using a single internet connection and a destination URL—no extra hardware, no shipping, no rack space required.

Pulsar also supports ultra-low-latency streaming over local networks, making it easy to monitor live feeds in the RePro app with minimal delay when working on set.

In editorial

Editorial teams can use Pulsar to bring collaborators into sessions in real time, whether that means sharing program output or interface views from tools like Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

In post

For post-production teams and facilities, Pulsar lays the groundwork for more consistent remote review workflows across multiple rooms, with additional post-focused features planned as the product evolves.

Phil Oatley, CEO of RePro Stream, explains:

“For too long, live streaming has meant more boxes, more cost, and more complexity. By shifting live streaming from hardware to software, Pulsar brings decision-makers closer to the creative process.”

Pulsar is available now in beta via our free plan, with more capabilities coming soon.
